Keith Tang is the victim of an in-house robbery. The thief stole his money and his TV while Keith was at work in High Point. Comments from friends and family…
Lucy Liang “I can’t believe they stole his money and his TV! How crooked of the theives! Our family will really try to be there for him, and help him out in any way possible. After all, we have known each other throughout our entire lives here in America! That’s what friends are for.”

I’m jealous. (whoa, never been there before;) My dad told me that when Stevie was young, they went to a concert together! And not just any boring orchestral concert! A concert with a very famous singer, that is still going strong today in Hong Kong and China! I’ so jealous. I never had that type of fun experience with either one of my parents. Stevie got so mcuh being the first child. My parents were 6 years younger, and that will make a difference i suppose!

The night before last, I had a dream. I was in school when the tornado hit. The faculty and staff declared it was safe again so everyone came out and started leaving for home. Then I saw it. The funnel starts forming and in less than one second, the funnel hit the ground before I screamed, “Tornado!!!” And we all hit the ground underneath the kitchen tables. My first try was too small. The second seemed unneat, but i fit, so i stayed. Then I woke up.
Today, whilst akea, the news reported a tornado in MO. Then i checked the online news on CNN for more details. IT hit Illiniois and WI as well. Not far from Milwaukee and Kenosha!! I know those cities and am only 3 hours away. Crazy!
I can’t seem to paste the link directly onto this post, so I’ll just copy and paste it for you…

Fun fun exposition conference about the latest web 2.0 applications and software companies who is taking on the vision of web 2.0 into every aspect of their platforms and applications. Exciting new information for the geeks and techies who is looking to expand their knowledge and disperse it onto the web. I cannot say enough good things about it. One of the latest concept (and one I have thought constantly about since the acquisition of many, and diverse, set of techi gadgets. All working separately, and with each new equipment is more and more initial setup time. Enters www.mesh.com with the latest software to put everything together and let it access data from all the equipment you own. 1 software, infinite gadgets. Sadly, it is windows compliant, BUT, they are working towards one for Mac, so be on the lookout!

Today i participated in a hip hop class at peak fitness. it was a fun group and teacher is excellent (Jen C). Props to her for doing 2 classes in a row while carrying. I love the cardio part of this exercise. I like the moves, mostly from beginning to latter middle. they really give you room to improve or add own personality and flavor. it brings me to the point of new revelation—searching for meaning of life. I like how the book gives the meaning to the meaning of life. ultimately, it is meaning according to piaget’s hierchary of life. first is survival–meaning of life is to sustain life through survival means, foods, clothing and shelter. After basic needs are met, what stargate calls ascension, we call self-actualization. we keep going up the pyramid until we have reached the top of the pyramid, and then start all over again ’til death. I am doing injustice for trying to reword or sum up the chapter about meaning from mihaly, but I can verbose it to you a little of my understanding of it. If you are lucky enough to have sufficient supply of basic human needs, then self-actualization may occur to meet higher goals of human needs, all going towards pleasure and comfort. there are two types of meaning—one for the individual, and one for the common good. or egotism and idealism. egotism in terms of satisfying one’s own needs and desires. idealism is going something immaterialistic, such as going after saintlness for god’s kingdom—helping others, or even a political figure who stands up for what they believe in. Piaget, I believe, believes that after self-actualization, person and environment, meets and becomes congruent with one another, neither harming, but benefitting the other. This may be where idealization comes in.
I belive that given one’s own experiences, self-actualization may not need to go as far to the ends of the earth for idealization to occur as a goal, but realize that fulfilling one’s own potential as a citizen of the US, as a citizen of the world, take on their own responsibilties, find out what they are so as to not trample on others, but integrate effectively with this universe. This leaves infinitely many versions of lifestyle, almost seeminly to leave free will to chance. however, someon who strives for something, is someone who may become successfully happy.

Sorry about the bad image from the last blog. It was a copy and paste technique, that didn’t serve well when transfered, because the size was adjusted for the newsletter it came from! I just want to consider that as web designing experience, and maybe go back later to edit if i can. Otherwise, I would like to share with you the stuff i’ve learned of HTML and CSS. Both wonderful web languages to learn, and simplistically easy to apply! I am a little overwhelmed with all the combinations I can use to make excellent webpages, but i have to pace myself and remember, it takes time to be an expert. It takes time to incorporate new combinations of techniques learned to produce more unique and more fantastic pages! I pray that i will have this type of patience required of a person to enable that learning and creative process. The last lesson i have learned is the div and span tags, for which divs seem very useful, and spans seems ridiculously tedious! But, it does help produce the design wanted.
Frustration:
One frustration for me is learning to use the form tags. Not necessarily the form tags themselves, but using the get method to gather the users information in email format and have it sent. So far, the furthest I’ve reached is, opening the email client, and if I have some luck, get the information in the email, just waiting for me to press send. If not, just a blank email opened…i guess for me to input all the data i have already chosen on the form, again! in typographical format! I do not think this is what the form function has in its potential. Therefore, I have come up again and again about using CGI scripts to make forms interactive. I have yet to figure out how, after reading a couple articles/posts. This will take a little more time, i suppose. I believe this is one of the most important lesson in creating wonderful web pages. either for getting further comments from visitors, or if a business, requiring info from customers to do business. Alot hinges on this form. I do believe the smarter consumers, or the die hard, will be able to find the author’s email and do business that way. But for the wayward ones, the seller would not be so lucky.
